Mary Ann (Christensen) Newton, 70, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, from complications caused by pulmonary fibrosis.

Mary was born Nov. 27, 1948, in Albert Lea to Floyd and Marjorie (Borland) Christensen. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1967 and earned her nursing degree from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. On June 10, 1972, she married John M. Newton Jr.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie.

She is survived by her father, Floyd; her husband, John Jr.; children Jennifer Swift and William Newton; sisters Jane Christensen and Nancy Christensen Duea (Phil); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends from many parts of the world.

A celebration of Mary’s life, who loved well and was fully loved, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Isanti Baptist Church, 2248 313th Ave. NE in Cambridge.
