Thefts reported

A house was reported broken into at 4:33 p.m. Saturday at 501 1/2 Ulstad Ave. Rings and approximately $75 of spare change taken from the home within the last three days.

A $50 check was reported forged at 4:46 p.m. Saturday at Hy-Vee Gas, 2708 Bridge Ave.

Someone was reportedly trying to take out credit cards in somebody else’s name at 9:46 a.m. Friday at 16270 785th Ave. No cards were obtained, and no money was lost.

A battery charger and safety cord were reported stolen out of a garage at 6:23 p.m. Saturday at 1414 Frank Hall Drive. Loss was estimated at approximately $60.

A $316.53 pushout was reported at 6:46 p.m. Sunday at 1550 Blake Ave. A complaint/warrant was requested.

A two-stroke, small Craftsman snowblower with a 20-inch cut valued at $120 was reported stolen from a deck at 11:20 a.m. Monday at 807 Columbus Ave.

Property was reported egged at 12:03 p.m. Monday at 317 Meredith Road.

A winter jacket with portable speakers and a vaping pen was reported taken at 12:12 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave. The incident allegedly occurred during the overnight hours while the victim was working. The theft was valued at approximately $250.

 

Sex crime with a child victim reported

Information from an outside agency regarding a sex crime with a child victim was reported at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Freeborn County.

A child in need of protection was reported at 4:31 p.m. Friday in Freeborn County.

 

Damage reported

A lock was reported “messed up” and a window broken at 11:24 a.m. Sunday at 104 W. Second St. in Hayward, according to Sheriff’s Office records. No entry was gained.

A Rubber Maid-brand mailbox was reported hit at 10:07 a.m. Sunday at 901 Allan Drive. The incident allegedly occurred the previous night. The mailbox is valued at $125.

 

Assault reported

A girl was reported assaulted by two people at 6:32 p.m. Saturday at 906 W. Front St. The girl was evaluated by ambulance and taken by private vehicle to the emergency room.
