Letter: Kindness of strangers in Albert Lea left an impact

Published 7:18 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2019

On Feb. 25, my husband and I, who are 87 and 79 years of age, were driving in Albert Lea to a restaurant and got stuck in the snow. Our car simply would not move out. We called a tow service, but they said it would be two hours before they could get to us. So, my husband walked to a nearby business asking for help. They gave him a shovel. As he was walking back to the car, a young couple came over to help us. It was zero degrees and snowing. Nonetheless, they shoveled, put salt down and pushed and lifted our car and we were soon able to move. We tried to give them a monetary gift, but they refused to accept it. We want to publicly thank them though we don’t even know their names. It was the kindness of strangers, which happens frequently in Albert Lea. To you two who helped us out, if you are reading this, thank you, thank you. May God bless you always and may you live 10,000 lifetimes and feast upon the fruits of paradise.
