Scott Reyant, 1962-2019

Scott Luverne Reyant, owner of Reyant Painting and Restoration and a resident of Albert Lea, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, of a massive heart attack at the age of 56, doing what he loved — ice fishing.

Scott was born Nov. 2, 1962, in Owatonna, the son of Nancy (Dahl) Reyant. He attended Owatonna High School and graduated in 1981.

Following high school, Scott attended Crookston Vo-Tech. He then started working at McQuay’s and Apex until starting his own commercial painting business, Reyant Painting and Restoration, formerly Ultimate Painting. Aside from his painting business, he raised and sold thoroughbreds at Willow Run Thoroughbreds.

On July 1, 2016, Scott married Lisa Meyer in Estes Park, Colorado. Scott was a devoted husband and father.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, remodeling projects and relaxing by a bonfire with his wife. He was a problem solver who just didn’t know when to quit until the job was done, and done right. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Scott is survived by his wife, Lisa Reyant, of Albert Lea; sons Jake Reyant of West Concord and Jared Reyant of Clarks Grove; mother, Nancy Reyant, of Owatonna; stepsons Tyler and Erik; sisters Laura (Brian) Peterson of Blooming Prairie and Kim Reyant of Owatonna; brother, Daniel Reyant, of Owatonna; nieces Elizabeth (Corey) Johnson and Anna (Casey Martin) Peterson; great-nephews Eli and Noah; great-niece, Grace; best friend since childhood, Ron Shoden; former spouses; Lisa’s family; her parents Eugene and Lavonne Meyer of New Hope; and her brother, Brent Meyer, of Orono.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. The Rev. Dennis Tamke will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church Friday. Worlein Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie is assisting the family with arrangements.
