The Albert Lea Exchange Club presented scholarships to two area students this month, recognizing high school students who have made a dramatic change in their attitudes and performance during their high school years.

According to a press release, Stephen Nowak and Triena Becker were this year’s Accepting the Challenge of Excellence Award scholarship recipients. Nowak received $700, while Becker received $500. Both scholarships are for students to attend a college of their choice.

The Albert Lea Exchange Club has presented these scholarships to Albert Lea Area Learning Center students for four years.

Nowak and Becker presented their essays at the April 2 Exchange Club meeting.

“Their dedication and insight to life at an early age is really inspiring,” the press release states. The Albert Lea Exchange Club wished both recipients years of great achievement.
