Woman injured in crash on I-35

A West St. Paul woman was injured Friday morning after her car rolled over on Interstate 35  near Geneva.

Tabitha Jean Delarosby, 38, was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Delarosby was driving a 2015 Kia Optima southbound on I-35 at 7:35 a.m. when she reportedly lost control of the car while going around a curve, causing it to enter the west ditch. The vehicle struck a culvert marker and rolled.

The roads were listed as snowy and icy at the time of the crash.

Delarosby was wearing her seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor, the report states.

 

Pedestrian hit by car; car leaves the scene

An Albert Lea woman was reportedly struck by a car Friday morning while she crossed Fourth Avenue near Front Street.

MaryEllen Shanklin, 44, was reportedly walking east on Fourth Avenue crossing the street at the road’s intersection with Front Street when she was struck by a small white vehicle that was turning left from Fourth Avenue onto Front Street. The vehicle reportedly did not stop and continued west on Front Street.

Shanklin was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for a possible injury.

 

Man veers off road, strikes car and mailboxes

An 84-year-old Albert Lea man was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea after he reportedly veered off the road and struck multiple mailboxes and a car.

According to police, Donald Edward Roberts was driving a 2012 Chevy Silverado on Greenwood Drive when he went off the road, striking mailboxes, shrubs and the 2011 Chrysler Town and Country.

He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

 

Break-in, damage reported

An attempted break-in was reported at 4:23 a.m. Thursday at 309 Fenton Ave.

A porta-potty was reported vandalized at 8:43 p.m. Thursday at 501 W. Richway Drive.

 

Man arrested on probation violation

Police arrested Mitchell Stevens on a probation violation at 7:28 p.m. Thursday at 133 W. William St.

 

1 arrested on warrant

Jorge Luis Acosta Valdez, 53, turned himself in on a local warrant at 3:56 a.m. Friday at 411 S. Broadway.

 

Man arrested for meth possession

Police arrested Derek Lee Olson, 30, for fifth-degree methamphetamine possession after receiving a report at 8:57 p.m. Friday of a suspicious person behind a building at 2222 E. Main St.

 

Hit-and-run reported

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:10 a.m. Saturday at 130 W. College St. The suspect vehicle was a black Ford F150 or F250. The incident had reportedly taken place about 1 1/2 hours prior.

 

Man arrested for violating restraining order

Police arrested Seth Donald Thompson, 19, on a violation of a harassment restraining order at 4:26 p.m. Sunday at 1427 Academy Ave. after police received a report of a man in the street who was yelling and screaming.

 

Jewelry stolen from Walmart

Jewelry was reported stolen at 10:09 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.
