Sons of Norway to host annual dinner

The Nortonna Lodge 1-638 of the Sons of Norway will host its annual Syttende Mai dinner at 6 p.m. May 20 at Elks Lodge, 126 E. View St. in Owatonna.
Syttende Mai is Norway’s Constitution Day. The annual celebration dinner will feature torsk, meatballs, potatoes, a vegetable, cucumber salad, lingonberry sauce, lefse, rice creme with strawberry sauce and krumkake.
According to a press release, the guest speaker will be Janet Letnes Martin, author and entrepreneur, on “Growing up Rural in a Scandinavian Lutheran Community — with the Smell of Barn and Remembrances of Hot Pads, Hot Dishes, and Hot Flashes!”
Reservations for the Syttende Mai dinner should be made by contacting Trudy Haugen at 507-451-7865 by May 13. Cost is $12.
