The Albert Lea Youth Football Association will host registration dates from 4 to 7:30 p.m. May 22 and June 10 at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea, according to a press release.

The registration is open to students who will be fifth and sixth graders in the 2019-20 school year. Registration fees are $75 with scholarships available; no one will be turned away. All protective equipment will be provided by the Albert Lea Youth Football Association.

The youth teams will compete in the Southern Minnesota Youth Football League comprised of teams from Byron, Waseca, Tri-City United, Triton, Grand Meadow and Blooming Prairie.

The Southern Minnesota Youth Football League is a part of USA Football and is Heads Up Tackle certified.

According to the release, the Albert Lea Youth Football Association will teach sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness and leadership skills while teaching the safe and proper techniques of tackle football to all participants, regardless of financial wealth.
