News that Mason City Clinic has established a location for ENT and urology specialists at Northbridge Mall is a welcome announcement to many in Albert Lea.
The location will provide services for allergies, ear infections, hearing loss, sleep disorders, head and neck cancers and sinus problems in the ENT department, along with services for infertility, male sexual dysfunction, incontinence, vasectomies, bladder, kidney stones, male voiding issues and kidney and prostate cancer in the urology department.
Services will be provided by five ENT physicians and four urologists, and the clinic has stated it has plans to add even more services in the future.
When Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea announced two years ago it would transition several services to its Austin campus, our hearts sank with the rest of the community. But instead of sitting quiet and watching the changes take place, many have stepped up and been an advocate for Albert Lea and the surrounding small towns.
Whether through reaching out to other providers, sharing our story or promoting forward thinking, providers are hearing loud and clear that Albert Leans value health care in the community and that they will come together to stand up for these vital services.
Though there are still other services that residents will have to travel for, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
We welcome the doctors with Mason City Clinic to the community and are glad you are here.
