Editorial: Practice safety when driving near fairgrounds

In only a few days, the Freeborn County Fair will begin, and the fairgrounds in northern Albert Lea will be flooded with people.
The sidewalks on Bridge Avenue and the streets in the surrounding neighborhoods will be busy with pedestrians, and more automobiles will also be on the roads trying to find parking.
We advise people to take extra precaution, whether you’re a pedestrian or a motorist, and be aware of your surroundings. When sidewalks are available, pedestrians should use the sidewalks, and motorists should lower their speed and be on the lookout for people walking.
The fair is one of Freeborn County’s greatest events of the summer — let’s keep it safe for all who attend.
