Jess Hanson and Matt Hatland of Albert Lea announce their engagement.

Hanson is the daughter of Mick and Becky Hanson of Albert Lea.

She is a 2000 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2004 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College. She is a teacher at Owatonna Public Schools.

Hatland is the son of Doris Hatland of Lake Mills and Mike Hatland of Fairfield, Iowa.

He is a 2002 graduate of Lake Mills High School. He is employed at Joseph Co.

An Aug. 17, 2019, wedding is planned.
