It’s hard to believe it, but schools in Albert Lea will be starting again in less than two weeks.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out some of the things that make Albert Lea a great place to live in the summer with your family, now’s your chance to get out there and make the most of the remaining time.
Check out one of the city’s numerous parks, rent a canoe or kayak from the Community Boathouse, or take a walk on the Blazing Star Trail or out at Myre-Big Island State Park.
The splash pad is still open, and the city pool will have a doggie swim Monday. Children would also enjoy a few hours at City Beach once the pool closes for the season.
Many of these activities are free or economical to do as a family, and there are many more ideas to take part in addition to the ones listed here.
Before you know it, days will be even busier with school and after-school activities in the evening, so it’s the perfect time to soak it all in while you can.
Take the time to make memories, whether in the community or in a short weekend trip.
You won’t regret it.
