It’s Albert Lea’s Homecoming Week, and it’s time to get out and showcase your school spirit.
Albert Lea High School named its Homecoming royalty last Friday, and various activities will take place throughout the week at district schools from elementary on up.
Events culminate with the Homecoming coronation on Friday in the morning in the high school gym.
Later that day, there will be an open house for the community from 3:45 to 5 p.m. at the Jim Gustafson Field, followed by a tailgate in the Albert Lea High School parking lot from 5 to 7 p.m. Students, staff and the public are invited to grill out at the high school prior to the football game, and Hy-Vee will also be on hand selling burgers and hot dogs.
After the tailgate, the football team will face off against Kasson-Mantorville at 7 p.m. at Jim Gustafson Field, and then students will wrap up the weeklong celebration with a dance after the game.
We encourage community members to get behind our high school athletes and all students this week and root them on.
Show some Tiger pride.
