5 things to do this weekend

1. Frightening Fun Halloween Party

Northbridge Mall will host a Halloween party from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be a DJ, photo booth, costume contests, snow cones and walking tacos and more at the mall, 2510 Bridge Ave. in Albert Lea.

 

2. Mystery movie

There will be a free movie shown at 3 p.m. Sunday at Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway Ave. in downtown Albert Lea. The name of the movie will not be revealed until showtime. The family-friendly movie will be rated PG.

 

3. 1950s and ’60s rock ’n’ roll

Wayne Luchau will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Luchau, who grew up in Ada, is “the embodiment of the ’50s and ’60s era of music,” according to a press release, and he reportedly channels the likes of Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Gene Pitney, among others. Admission to the show is $15.

 

4. Glenville Area Women of Today Craft and Vendor Fair

Glenville Area Women of Today will host its second annual craft and vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Glenville-Emmons Elementary School, 240 Second Ave. SW in Glenville. There will be lunch available for a donation. Over 25 vendors and makers were scheduled to be at the fair as of press time.

 

5. Chili cookoff

There will be a chili cookoff from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bergdale Harley-Davidson, 905 E. Plaza St. in Albert Lea. The chili cookoff is open to customers and for customers, and is also judged by customers, according to a press release. A Bergdale gift certificate will be awarded to the “undisputed grand champion of chili cookers.”
