Alerus Mortgage announced it has contributed over $3 million to date to charitable organizations as part of its Build Your Community program, according to a press release. Since its inception in 2007, Alerus Mortgage has donated $100 for each closed mortgage in the Twin Cities to an organization focused on fighting hunger, childhood education, public servants, or homelessness and affordable housing. For each $100 donation, the closing loan officer contributes $50, while Alerus Mortgage matches their contribution.

“Giving back to the communities where we live and work has been a long-standing principle for Alerus Mortgage,” said Lori Day, director of Alerus Mortgage. “Our Build Your Community program allows our clients to participate in deciding where our charitable dollars are going – that’s what makes our giving program so unique.”
