Though she’s not an RN, Amy Mandler is frequently doing rounds.

Her domain is Northbridge Mall, which Mandler manages for The Carrington Co. Every work morning, she walks the mall and checks in with business managers to exchange information.

Mandler also owns Electric Beach, a tanning salon she bought in 2014. Originally from Albert Lea, she moved back last year after living in Wells for 25 years. 

She went to college in Mankato to study business, Mandler said. It is what she has always known.

“I’ve always been in retail or business” since age 16, she said.

Mandler said she loves retail, especially getting to work with customers.

“I love being around people,” Mandler said.

Bringing people to the mall is always her goal, she said. Events held in the mall are important for that reason, something she sees for herself as a business owner. It is also a way to help the community, Mandler said.

Part of her job is asking other business owners what they would like to see happen with the mall, brainstorming together and encouraging business cross-promotion, she said. She also shows vacancies to potential tenants, but her main job is planning. 

Between working at Electric Beach, working out of her office tucked in the hallway near where the old Herberger’s opens up to the rest of the mall and attending events hosted at Northbridge Mall, “I’m always here,” Mandler said.
