Roland Green was a member of the Air Force Band and was sent to Maine to practice as a group. Fate led these two to meet each other, and the couple was married on Nov. 21, 1955, at Loring Air Force Base. The couple spent 63 wonderful years together. After Roland’s military service was complete, the family moved to Albert Lea, where they had been residents ever since. Ernie worked at Fleet Farm Supply in Albert Lea for over 30 years, all while taking care of her family.

Ernie enjoyed being a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, where she served funeral lunches and Loaves and Fishes often. Faith was always important to Ernie.

In her free time, Ernie enjoyed keeping her mind sharp by reading and doing adult coloring books. She liked being outside, walking and maintaining an active lifestyle. Ernie was kind, caring and always put others before herself. Above all else, faith and family were at the center of Ernie’s life. Ernie was at her happiest when she was with her family.

She is preceded in death by parents Herman and Eva Johndro; and many brothers and sisters.

Ernie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roland Green of Albert Lea; three children, Nancy (Duane) Beckmann of Rochester, Larry (Marian) Green of Lakeville and Jeffrey (Julie) Green of Oronoco; grandchildren Jennifer (Brent) Picker, Bridget (Ross) Moyer, Jamie (Matt) Ishler, Tina (Adam) Gruver, Tony Metcalf, Luke (Jackie) Mosiman, Matthew Mosiman and Danielle Mosiman; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Darrel (Patricia) Johndro; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

“The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters, you did for me.” — Matthew. 25:40.  In everything Ernie did, she did wholeheartedly for the Lord.

Blessed be her memory.
