Funeral services for Lois E. Hansel, 75, of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jan Crissinger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Lois Elaine Hansel (Johnson) died Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at her home in Albert Lea.
Lois was born July 23, 1944, to Harold and Irene Johnson (Egeness) in Frost. She attended school in Frost and grew up on a farm one mile northeast of town. She was a member at First Lutheran Church.
On Sept. 25, 1965, Lois married Dennis Hansel at Dell Lutheran Church in Dell. Together they had two children.
She loved to travel with Dennis, and together they went on many cruises to different countries. Lois also enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining family and friends, playing on her iPad and watching TV. She was willing to help anyone in need.
Lois is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughters Theresa Anderson and Lisa (Daren) Meier; grandchildren Cody Anderson, Anna Anderson, Jaci Meier and Lauren Meier; brothers Terry Johnson and Richard (Corinne) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Irene Johnson; father and mother-in-law Roland and Mildred Hansel; stillborn grandson, Jake Anderson; brother, Harlan Johnson, and two other brothers in infancy; and sister-in-law, Betty Lou Johnson.
