Man injured after crash on I-35

A Wisconsin man was injured Friday evening after the vehicle he was driving crashed off of a snowy and icy portion of Interstate 35 near the junction with Interstate 90.

Peyton James Hamm, 21, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries believed to be not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol report said Hamm was driving a 2006 Toyota Tundra northbound on I-35 at 5:06 p.m. when it went off the road and rolled over onto its side in the median.

Hamm was wearing his seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Albert Lea Police Department assisted on scene.
