1. Officer Arik Matson flapjack fundraiser
The Albert Lea Applebee’s will host a flapjack fundraiser event from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday to benefit Waseca Officer Arik Matson, who was shot in the line of duty Jan. 6. All proceeds will be donated to Matson and his family.
Tickets to the fundraiser cost $10 and include pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee and juice.
Those interested in attending can contact Appleebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar in Albert Lea at 507-373-0380 to purchase tickets.
2. Board game night
Albert Lea Board Game Group meets from 6 to 9 p.m. Sundays at Northbridge Mall. Games typically played are similar to Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassonne.
3. Golden Bubble bridal expo
The Golden Bubble in Wells will host a bridal expo from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature local vendors, prizes and a free photo booth. The Golden Bubble is a venue in southern Minnesota that hosts wedding receptions, anniversary parties, corporate events and more.
4. Todd Michael Jameson solo acoustic
Stop by The Interchange Wine & Coffee Bistro Friday evening for a solo acoustic show with Todd Michael Jameson. The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Jameson is an experienced musician who, in addition to performing as a solo artist, plays in three bands in Minneapolis-St. Paul and the tri-state area.
5. Big Island Rendezvous and Festival
The 27th Annual Big Island Rendezvous Historic Faire will take place Saturday and Sunday at Northbridge Mall. Event times are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The free, family-friendly event will host over 30 vendor tables featuring pottery, woodworking, ironwork, art, jewelry, colonial crafts and additional presentations and demonstrations.
