Albert Lea gets 6.5 inches of snow

Albert Lea received 6.5 inches of snow overnight, as of 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
A winter storm warning remains in effect through noon Sunday for much of southern Minnesota into Wisconsin.
Total snow accumulations of 8 of 12 inches of snow were expected through noon.
Northerly winds gusting to 25 to 30 mph after the snow ends could lead to drifting snow across western and southwestern Minnesota.
According to the Weather Service, travel could be difficult. People are advised to use caution and to stay aware of the latest road conditions at 511.mn.org.
Other snow totals reported in the area include 8.4 inches in Ellendale, 8 inches in Owatonna, 9 inches in Waseca and 6.5 inches in Austin.
As of 9 a.m., roads were listed as completely covered with snow.
