This is my response to the Friday, March 20, letter headed “Babies deserve all guarantees of life,” which blasted my name in a very hateful way. The author was Mavis Jacobs. I have to straighten this Trump-supporting person out.

I have to get one thing straight. I do not believe abortion is right, and there is no Democrat politician who believes abortion is right. Though I am pro-choice, that does not change my mind. In Mavis’s letter, she points out she believes abortion should be permitted in rare circumstances of rape, incest or to protect the life of the mother, which is exactly what I believe. So why does she think she is more righteous than me? I challenge her if she can write a bill that would be accepted by everyone, we would like to see it. You cannot blame any Democrat for voting for pro-choice. There is not one of them who believes abortion is right.

The majority of the American people choose to have pro-choice. That’s what the Democrats do. They listen to their voters. The Republicans like to make you believe that they are so concerned about that fetus. But they don’t want to pay for its birth or its medical needs or for its care while it is growing up — its food and housing, schooling or child care.

But wait until that fetus turns 18, they want to put a firearm in its arms and say now go risk your life for your country. I don’t know of anyone who has ever had an abortion. It has to be one of the hardest decisions anyone has ever had to make. Mavis, you have to stop watching Fox News and listening to Rush Limbaugh.

I am still bragging. I didn’t vote for Trump.
