Two people were injured Sunday afternoon during a crash at the intersection of Blake Avenue and U.S. Highway 65, near the off ramp of Interstate 35.
Tricia Gregerson, 40, of Glenville, and Glen Stofer, 91, of Faribault, were taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, according to the Albert Lea Police Department. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Police stated Gregerson was driving a 2015 GMC Acadia and was southbound on Blake Avenue. She had a green light and was turning west on Highway 65, when Stofer, who was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile, reportedly drove through the red light on Highway 65 and struck Gregerson’s vehicle.
A passenger in Gregerson’s vehicle was not injured.
Police stated Stofer was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
