I had been helping with some care at the home of a relative. I went in and out of the room at least half a dozen times. Then, at 1 a.m., I noticed it. I had sat in this room, scanning my eyes around prior. Photos of younger days, grandchildren, foster children, a plaque display from years at KJLY (Kinship Radio 101.9 FM) as prayer coordinator, books and memorable knickknacks (my Grandpa Lewy was an antique dealer so I love such things) and then a 3-foot-by-4-foot item I had not seen. It was not hidden; it was right in plain sight and yet I never noticed it until now.

As we all adjust to a different lifestyle during these days, are we noticing and paying more attention to things, people, projects, activities that have gone unseen/undone/unnoticed?

Easter is soon upon us!

“Have you seen Jesus my Lord? He’s here in plain view. Take a look, open your eyes, He’ll show it to you.” — John Fischer

Shadrach Meschach Lockridge, the dynamic African-American pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in San Diego, penned this:

“It’s Friday. Jesus is praying, Peter’s a sleeping, Judas is betraying, but Sunday’s comin’. Pilate’s struggling, the council is conspiring, the crowd is vilifying, they don’t even know that Sunday’s comin’. The disciples are running, like sheep without a shepherd, Mary’s crying, Peter is denying, but they don’t know that Sunday’s a comin’. The Romans beat my Jesus, they robe him in scarlet, they crown him with thorns, but they don’t know that Sunday’s comin’. See Jesus walking to Calvary, his blood dripping, his body stumbling and his spirit’s burdened, but you see, it’s only Friday; Sunday’s comin’. The world’s winning, people are sinning and evil’s grinning. The soldiers nail my Savior’s hands to the cross, they nail my Savior’s feet to the cross and then they raise him up next to criminals. Let me tell you something; Sunday’s comin’. The disciples are questioning what has happened to their king, and the Pharisees are celebrating that their scheming has been achieved, but they don’t know it’s only Friday; Sunday’s comin’. He’s hanging on the cross, feeling forsaken by his father left alone and dying, can nobody save him? The earth trembles, the sky grows dark, my king yields his spirit. Hope is lost, death has won, sin has conquered and Satan’s just a laughin’. Jesus is buried, a soldier stands guard and a rock is rolled into place. It is only Friday; Sunday is a comin’.”

“Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but Him they did not see.” Luke 24:24 ESV.

It’s Friday, soon Sunday; resurrection day!

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” Matthew 28:6, NKJ.

“On Monday he gave me the gift of love, Tuesday peace came from above, Wednesday he told me to have more faith and on Thursday he brought me the gift of grace. And then on Friday he told me ‘watch and pray,’ then on Saturday what to say, On Sunday he gave me the power divine to let my little light shine. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” — Harry Dixon Loes, 1920
