Daily COVID-19 cases: Area counties see new cases
All area counties saw COVID-19 case increases Thursday, according to daily updates from the Minnesota Department of Health.
Freeborn County had three new cases, increasing its total cumulative cases to 262 since the beginning of the pandemic. No information about the new cases has been released.
The Freeborn County Public Health Department stated 21 people have now been hospitalized from the county for the virus at some point in their illness, and seven are currently hospitalized at this time, up one from the previous day.
Out of the county’s total cases, 232 people are now out of isolation.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, Faribault County reported six new cases, increasing its total to 41; Mower County had 19, increasing its total to 847; Steele County had five new cases, pushing its total to 206; and Waseca County had one, for a total of 46.
Statewide, 365 new cases were reported, increasing the state’s total cumulative cases to 34,123.
Of that total, 29,854 are now out of isolation, and 336 are hospitalized, including 162 in intensive care.
Nine new deaths were reported from Dakota, Hennepin and Ramsey counties, including one person in their 40s and one person in their 50s from Hennepin county. Five of the new deaths were from people in long-term or assisted living care facilities.
Minnesota has now had 1,406 deaths from COVID-19, of which 1,107 were residents of long-term or assisted living facilities.
