Daily COVID-19 update: 6 new cases in Freeborn County
Six new COVID-19 cases were reported in Freeborn County on Saturday, increasing the county’s total cumulative cases to 271.
Of those cases, one person lives in another county and is expected to be removed from Freeborn County’s list. The other residents who tested positive included one person in their 20s, two people in their 30s and two people in their 50s, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department.
Of the county’s total cases, 245 people are out of isolation, and five remain hospitalized.
The Minnesota Department of Health stated 26 new cases were reported in Mower County, increasing that county’s total to 894.
One new case was reported in Faribault County, increasing its total to 45; three new cases were reported in Steele County, increasing its total to 212; and one new case was reported in Waseca County, raising its total to 52.
Across the state, 427 new cases were reported, increasing the state’s cumulative positive cases to 35,033.
Of those cases, 30,401 are no longer in isolation and 300 are hospitalized, including 155 in intensive care.
Six new deaths were reported in Anoka, Hennepin and Washington counties, and four of the new deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The state’s total death count tied to COVID-19 is 1,417.
