Two new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in Freeborn County on Monday, increasing the county’s total cumulative count to 282.

The Freeborn County Public Health Department said the cases are expected to be moved to another county.

The department said 250 out of the county’s total cases are out of isolation and four are hospitalized.

One new case was reported in Mower County, increasing the county’s total to 911, and four new cases were reported in Faribault County, increasing the county’s total to 53. Steele had three new cases, and Waseca had two, raising their totals to 215 and 57, respectively.

Statewide, 315 new cases were reported, increasing the state’s total cumulative cases to 35,851. Of that number, 31,225 are out of isolation.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 10 new deaths from Anoka,  Hennepin, Renville and Rice counties. Of the 10 deaths, six were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, two were in jail or prison and two lived in a private residence.

The state’s total death count is 1,435, of which 1,129 resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities.

The department stated 278 people are hospitalized, including 140 in intensive care.
