Daily COVID-19 update: No current COVID-19 hospitalizations from Freeborn County

No people remain hospitalized from Freeborn County due to COVID-19, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department on Monday.

The county so far has had 10 people who were hospitalized at some point since the pandemic began, but as of Monday they had all been released, the department stated.

The county had eight new lab-confirmed cases reported Monday and has now had 125 cases. Of that number, 84 are out of isolation.

The new cases included one person between 10 and 20 years old, one person in their 20s, three in their 30s, one in their 40s and two in their 50s.

Mower County reported 27 new lab-confirmed cases, increasing its total to 345 cases. The county had its second death over the weekend.

Faribault County had one new case, and Steele County had two new cases, increasing their totals to 19 and 160, respectively.

Statewide, newly reported cases increased by 361 on Monday with 10 new deaths reported. The new deaths were in Dakota,  Hennepin, Ramsey and Wright counties.

The state has now had 1,050 deaths, with 855 among residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.

Of the state’s 25,208 positive cases, 19,441 no longer are in isolation, and 549 are hospitalized, including 253 in intensive care.

Hennepin County has reported the highest number of cases with 8,514 cases and 616 deaths. Ramsey County has had 3,075 cases and 128 deaths, and Stearns County has had 2,030 cases and 13 deaths.

Olmsted County has had 634 cases and 10 deaths.
