Pedestrian hit by car and other reports

A woman was injured Tuesday afternoon after she was reportedly hit by a car while in the crosswalk in front of Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, 404 Fountain St. 

According to police, Debra Ann Stolarcek was driving a 2017 Toyota and was turning from Park Avenue onto eastbound Fountain Street when she reportedly struck Tracy Ann Peterson, 43, of Albert Lea, who was walking north across Fountain Street at the crosswalk.

Peterson was taken by ambulance to the emergency room nearby.

Stolarcek was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

 

Tires reported slashed

Police received a report at 10:21 a.m. Tuesday of two tires that were reported slashed on a vehicle on Monday and Tuesday at 928 W. Front St. 

 

Theft by check reported

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft by check at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday in Albert Lea.

 

Criminal damage reported

Criminal damage to property was reported at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday at 1336 Briarwood Drive. 

Damage to the Albert Lea Audubon Preserve was reported at 8 a.m. Tuesday at 424 Oregon St.

Police received a report at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday that someone had thrown a brick on a car at 1710 E. Main St. 

 

Money lost in scam

Police received a report of someone who had been scammed out of $2,000 online at 2:01 p.m. in Albert Lea. 

 

Hit-and-run crash reported

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday at 2708 Bridge Ave.
