Stanley Luverne Stadheim

Stanley Luverne Stadheim, age 96 of Albert Lea, passed away on June 28th, 2020 at St. John’s Lutheran Community.

Stanley was born on July 25, 1923 in Bancroft Township to Louis and Evelyn (Hellie) Stadheim. He grew up in Lerdal and Bancroft and went to country school in Lerdal. He married Arlean “Babe” Bakken on July 24th, 1943 at Central Freeborn Church. Together they farmed and raised their family. He was on the ASC Board, President of Brotherhood, Clarks Grove Creamery Board, Hayward School Board Member and East Freeborn Cemetery Board for 43 years.

Stanley enjoyed fishing, doing puzzles and needle point. He also loved to watch the Minnesota Twins & Vikings. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 76 years Arlean “Babe”; five children, Charles (Nancy), Ron (Julie), Mary (Dennis) Jensen, Nancy (Dennis) Mattson, Sandy (Jon) Larson; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; brother David (Marilyn); sisters-in-law Blanche, Janet, and Janis; brother-in-law Tony Kocanda; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his granddaughter April Sorensen; brothers Edward, Louis, Arnold, Richard, and John; sisters Annabelle and Edna Mae; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. John’s – Knutson Place, The Skilled Nursing at St. John’s and Mayo Clinic Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to East Freeborn Cemetery Fund or donors choice.
