The Fourth of July is typically one of the best holidays to celebrate in Albert Lea.
The city usually is filled with events, whether it be the Third of July Parade, the annual fireworks, ski shows, car shows or other festivities.
Though things will be different this year because of COVID-19, we encourage people to not give up on celebrating this holiday and to remember why we have Independence Day in the first place.
Though it seems like ancient history now, it’s a time to celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain in 1776. It is also a time to celebrate the freedoms we are able to enjoy living here.
Often we take for granted how blessed we are to live in this country. Don’t forget all who have fought for us to enjoy these freedoms.
May you all have a safe and healthy Fourth of July.
