Lake Mills falls to No. 9 Hampton-Dumont-CAL

Lake Mills opened their wrestling season Tuesday night by hosting ninth-ranked (2A) Hampton-Dumont-CAL.

In a dual where the lead went back and forth throughout, the opposing Bulldogs ended up on top, 42-36.

The meet was full of action, but kids from both sides ended up on their backs a lot and got pinned.

“It was typical first meet of the season where kids from both teams got out of position, which created a high scoring dual,” said coach Alex Brandenburg. “We wrestled a good team, but we made a lot of mistakes we need to try to clean up.”

Individually, Lake Mills was led by pins from Landon Price, Steve Brandenburg, Garrett Ham, Beau Kaufman and Wyatt Hanna.
