Mark Joel Schwarz passed away on November 7, 2023 at Brooke Army Medical Center Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX.  He was 65 years old.  He was born December 10, 1957 in Albert Lea, MN to Joel Schwarz and Nancy Schwarz.

He spent most his youth playing golf at Green Lea Golf Course.  After graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1976, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served as a journalist at the following Air Force bases:  Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City SD; Howard AFB, Panama; Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX where he later retired as a S.Sgt.   Mark received numerous awards for his journalistic talents during his tenure with the Air Force newspapers.  His leisure time was spent playing golf with his buddies at Randolph Air Force Base or kayaking on the Comal and Guadalupe rivers in San Antonio with friends.

Mark is survived by his two children, Matthew (Katie) Schwarz, San Antonio, TX; Erica Schwarz, San Antonio, TX; parents, Joel Schwarz, Twin Lakes, MN and Nancy Schwarz, Albert Lea, MN;  sisters, Annette (Jay) Crabtree, Jayne (Brian) Robertson; brother, Jason (Cory) Schwarz, and precious grandson Milo Schwarz, son of Matthew and Katie, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew along with many, many special friends.

A private memorial will be held in the spring in San Antonio, TX.
