A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5-7 on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the funeral home, along with an hour before the service. Reverend Clayton Balsley will be officiating.
Alice was born on June 5, 1925 to Hans and Anna Marie Jensen in rural Glenville. Growing up, she attended the District 35 grade school, and graduated from Albert Lea Highschool in 1943. She married Dale Wadding on June 4, 1944. After Dale’s passing, she met and married Neil Rasmusson on May 25, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked for the Emmons Public Schools as an assistant cook for 12 years, along with Wilsons in Albert Lea.
Alice was a member of the Bridge Community Church, Emmons American Legion Auxiliary, and the Civic Improvement Club. She was a lover of animals and birds, especially cardinals. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, reading, doing puzzles, word searches, game shows, and playing bingo. She was proud of donating 15 gallons of blood to help others. But most of all you could find her drinking a cup of coffee, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren at their events.
Alice is survived by her children Dennis (Roxanne) Wadding, Dale (Rebecca) Wadding, Annette (James) Thompson, and Nathan Rasmusson. Grandchildren Tracy Wadding, Tony Wadding, Amy Mooney, Jon Wadding, Jay Wadding, Bryan Baggett, Krista Beekmann, Dan Baggett, and Melanie Korish. Step grandchildren Steve Woodall, Michele Carlson, Brad Thompson, Bryon Thompson, and Brooke Thompson; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Betty Thompson.
Alice is preceded in death by her husbands Dale Wadding and Neil Rasmusson; infant son Ronnie, son Tom Wadding, daughter Rosanne Baggett and her husband David; parents Hans and Anna Marie Jensen; brothers Harlan and Stanley; and brother-in-law Robert Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bridge Community Church in Albert Lea, the American Cancer Society, or the Oaklawn Cemetery in Emmons, MN.
