Margrette Dorothy Aasen, 95, died Friday, December 22, 2023, surrounded by  family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 30, 2023,  at Ascension Lutheran Church,  Albert Lea, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Margrette Aasen

Margrette was born at home on a farm in Bath Township, Minnesota, January 7, 1928. to Alfred and Olga Munson. She was baptized and confirmed at  Hartland Synod Lutheran Church.

Margrette graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1947. She worked at the  Park-N-Eat, National Tea, Red Owl and St. John’s Lutheran Home.

On November 27, 1955, Margrette was united in marriage to Carroll Aasen in  Hartland, MN.

Margrette and her husband were active charter members of Ascension  Lutheran Church. She loved to cook, bake, make lefse, and embroider. Family  was important to Margrette. She was always available to help family and  friends or welcome them in for coffee, cookies, and dessert. She kept a  cherished record book of family birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. She  will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Margrette is survived by her children Kay (David) Beam, Carroll (Laurie)  Aasen, Jr., Kenneth (Rose) Aasen, Allen Aasen, grandchildren Katie (Paul)  Pribyl, Susannah (Brian) Humpal, Caroline (Shane) DeRidder, Jason  (Mackenzie) Miller, Matthew Miller, great grandchildren Brooklyn, Kayliana,  Emerson, Vincent, Audrey, Samuel, Carroll (CJ), Kaijsa, Sonja, Arianna,  Kendrick, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Carroll, parents and siblings, Roy, Arla and  Merton.
