Summary of School Board Minutes

The School Board of Independent School District 241 met in a study session on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at Brookside Education Center, 211 West Richway Drive, Albert Lea, MN. School Board members present: Dave Klatt, Kim Nelson, Neal Skaar, Bruce Olson, Angie Hoffman, Gary Schindler, and Davy Villarreal. Administrators present Superintendent Ron Wagner.
1. Motion to approve agenda as presented. Motion carried 7-0
2. Motion to approve consent agenda as presented. Motion carried 7-0
3. Motion to approve the nomination of Kim Nelson as School Board Chair. Motion carried 7-0.
4. Motion to approve the nomination of Gary Schindler as School Board Vice-Chair. Motion carried 7-0
5. Motion to approve the nomination of Dave Klatt as School Board Clerk. Motion carried 7-0
6. Motion to approve the nomination of Bruce Olson as School Board Treasurer. Motion carried 7-0
7. Motion to approve Board members assigned to Standing Committee Assignments, Representatives to Board, Agencies, and Committees as discussed. Motion carried 7-0
8. Motion to approve the 2024-2025 Board Meeting Schedule as presented. Motion carried 7-0.
9. Motion to approve agenda items 4.3 through 4.10 as a single Board Resolution as presented. Motion carried 7-0.
10. Motion to approve Albert Lea Area Schools Executive Administrative Assistant Association 23-25 Master
Agreement as presented. Motion carried 7-0
