Gary Dean Shuck, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 24, 2024, at the age of 67 in Albert Lea, MN. Born in Austin, MN on March 29, 1956, Gary was a beloved member of his community and dedicated his time to helping others working in the food pantry of the Salvation Army.
On June 26, 1993, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN, Gary married the love of his life, Jackie Johnson. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with their three children, Kristina, Amber, and Joshua.
Gary loved hosting Sunday dinners for his family, where they shared stories, laughter, and delicious meals. He was known for his exceptional banana bread. A sports enthusiast, Gary was a true Minnesota sports fan, supporting teams such as the Vikings, Wild, and Twins. Gary enjoyed spending time relaxing on the patio in quiet contemplation.
Gary was remembered for his gentle nature, big heart, and his talent for giving people a good-natured ribbing. His presence in the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and warmth will be cherished forever.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Loretta (Kinny) Shuck; brother, Steven Shuck; sister Shirley Medrano; and parents-in-law, Wallace and Florene Johnson.
Left to cherish Gary’s memory are his beloved wife of 30 years, Jackie Shuck; children, Kristina Knudtson, Amber (Manuel) Knudtson, Joshua (Liz) Shuck; grandchildren, Marcus, Devin, Tanner, Aliyah, Amya, Adalynn, Marley, Greyson, Jensen; siblings. Diane (Bob) Newton, Jerry (Sandy) Shuck, Betty (Ray) Musel, Donald Shuck, Elizabeth Thompson; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, 2 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services, with a visitation one hour prior to services. Vicar Ashley Kuhlman will be officiating. A visitation will also be held the night before services, April 1st, from 5-7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services.
Through these gatherings, Gary’s memory will be kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
