The Albert Lea school district on Friday announced Kristi Kenis was offered and accepted the position as Sibley Elementary School principal.
Kenis has served as interim principal at the school since October when former Principal Nicky Severtson transitioned to assistant principal at Albert Lea High School.
Kenis has more than 24 years of experience as a teacher and administrator, starting as a special education teacher at Sibley at the beginning of her career.
“This journey has been nothing short of incredible, filled with moments of growth, learning and many special memories,” she said. “Returning to Sibley feels like coming home, and I am genuinely excited to be part of this dedicated team once again. I look forward to collaborating with each of you to make Sibley Elementary an even more exceptional community.”
