Marion “Billie” Bergeson, 93, of Albert Lea, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday March 22nd, 2024, at Good Samaritan Center.
Marion was born on January 11th, 1931, to Stanley and Martha Harrison in Marham, England.
In 1951 she met Roger Bergeson while he was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the airbase next to her village of Marham. In 1952 they were wed, going on to have three sons, Paul, Gary and Tony.
Once her children were in school, she pursed many hobbies. She often took classes to improve her skills and enjoyed making friends along the way. She did sewing for the local National Guard unit and knitted and crocheted beautiful items she sold at local shops and custom made items for many people throughout the community. Marion crocheted afghans for the American Legion Auxiliary and sewed quilts and knitted lap robes for the V. A. Hospital. She took great pride in her family, home and gardens.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Martha; husband, Roger; son, Paul; and siblings, Joan, John, Robert, Charles, and Hillary. She is survived by her son, Gary (Marlene) and son, Tony (Corina) as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.
We are thankful for the care and compassion that Marion received from the staff at Good Samaritan Society and St Croix Hospice; your kindness will always be remembered by our family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services; Pastor Kent Otterman will officiate. Marion’s family will greet guests at a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be given to the Albert Lea American Legion Post #56, 142 N Broadway Ave, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
