The Albert Lea Boys Golf team was in Mankato on Wednesday for the midseason Big 9 Conference tournament.
The weather could not have been any better, and the Tigers took advantage of that by beating the entire field by 10 strokes or more.
Albert Lea posted a season low 301, with the next closest team being Northfield at 311. By winning the tournament, Albert Lea took home 11 points (one for each team they beat) bringing their conference record to 14-0 and 18-3 on the season.
Leading the way for the Tigers was sophomore Noah Teeter, who was medalist for the day by bringing in a round of 69, five shots better than the next closest player. Eli Farris shot 76, Nick Belshan came in with a 77 and Archie Nelson posted a 79.
Their next match will take place in Independence, Minnesota, on Monday at Windsong Farm Golf Club. This is an invite that consists of all the state tournament teams from the previous year in class AAA with a couple others getting the coveted invite. The boys are excited to showcase their talent against such a strong field.
