Delores S. Loe

Delores Sylvia (Johnson) Loe, born on June 21, 1941, in Hartland, MN, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Austin, MN. Delores will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a strong-willed woman with a great sense of humor. She found joy in dancing with her husband, Orien “Hi-Lo” Loe, whom she married at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea on September 23, 1961.

Delores cherished time spent traveling and visiting her daughter on out-of-state adventures. Throughout her life, Delores held various roles, from working at the Freeborn County Shopper to serving as a lunch lady at Hawthorne and Halverson Elementary Schools.

Spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter brought immense happiness to Delores. Delores had a soft spot for all animals especially cats and dogs, enjoyed playing cards, board games and was a life-long Elvis Presley fan. Delores’s love for her family was evident, and she cherished her role as a big sister, maintaining a close bond with her sister Darlene throughout their lives.

Left to cherish Delores’ memory are her husband of 62 years, Hi-Lo; daughters, Brenda (Stan) Malepsy, Rhonda Loe; grandchildren, Brittany (Brian) Miller, Cody (Emily) Malepsy; great-granddaughter, Myla Malepsy; siblings, Steven “TB” (Sandi) Johnson, Gilbert (Mary) Johnson, Marlene Johansen, Darlene Hendrickson, Julie Telles, Paulie (Josephine) Johnson; sister-in-law, LeAnn Jones; and many numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents, Selmer Johnson and Ruth (Hanson) Werner; siblings, Stanley Johnson, Dale Johnson, David Johnson, Merrill Johnson, John Johnson; brothers-in-law, Allen Loe, David Jones, Jerry Hendrickson, Red Johansen; and parents-in-law, Irvin and Hazel Loe.

A funeral service to honor Delores will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Pastor Trish Reedstrom will be officiating. A reception with bars and coffee will take place after the service, prior to a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Delores will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
