The Albert Lea Civil War Roundtable will meet at the Freeborn County History Museum at 7 p.m. Thursday. Bob Ball will present an interesting program on the Lost Cause controversy — why the South lost the Civil War. Disgruntled Southerners began to lay blame on the ineffectiveness of Gen. James Longstreet at Gettysburg and the eventual downturn of the Confederate cause as the primary reason for surrender.

There will be a Q and A with a drawing for a Civil War book. The public is cordially invited to this free event.
