RICHARD ERLAND SORENSON, age 77, of Waseca passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Richard grew up in the Ellendale/New Richland area where he graduated from Ellendale High School in 1965. Following his education, he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the States and started working in the automotive industry at various dealerships until his retirement. He married Linda Mundt on November 28, 1970 and had three children, daughter Tina and sons Adam and Micheal. He enjoyed working on old cars, hunting, woodworking and especially family gatherings.

Richard is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Tina; son, Micheal (Ann); sisters, Margaret Otterson and Donna Guevara of Albert Lea; brothers, Harold (Linda) Sable of Red Wing and Raymond (Glenda) Olsen of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Audrey Sorenson, Patricia Sable and Deb Sable; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son, Adam; parents, Albert and Carla Sorenson; sisters, Luella Nelson, Bernetta Hanson, Muriel Shaunce, and Berniece Kasper; brothers, Howard Sorenson, Marlys Sorenson, Donald Sorenson, Robert Sable, Kenneth Sable, and David Sable.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
