Thomas Scott Hamberg passed away April 6, 2024, in Mankato, MN. Tom was born on March 7, 1957, in Albert Lea, MN to Archie and Phyllis (Parks) Hamberg where he attended school and graduated from Albert Lea High School. He studied accounting at Riverland College.
On July 28, 1979, Tom wed his beloved wife, Cindy Dudley. Tom lovingly embraced his role of father to Cindy’s children, Denise and Chad.
Tom and Cindy relocated to Madelia, MN in 1984 where he thrived in the vehicle sales business at Dick Olson Motors for over 20 years. In 1992, they settled in Lake Crystal, MN.
Tom built a successful business in radon mitigation, Ameradon Services. He had drive and passion for owning his own business while helping improve the lives of others.
He was active in his community in may ways, including; The Madelia Lions Club, Madelia Community Theater, First Presbyterian Church, hosting foreign exchange students, and mission trips to Mexico.
One of Tom’s greatest accomplishments was getting his pilot’s license and owning an airplane. If he wasn’t flying, you could find Tom on the golf course, fishing for walleyes, or traveling to a warm destination. Tom’s biggest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and including them on his adventures.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cindy Hamberg; daughter, Denise Westerlund, husband Brian, grandchildren, Megan Ball and Nicholas Kromminga, and great grandchild, Olivia Moore; son, Chad Sisco, and grandchildren, Lily Sisco, Jake Sisco, and Macy Sisco; siblings, John, Michael, Steve, Bill, Susan, Sharon, Darlene, Judy, and Pat. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Phyllis; brother Jerry Hamberg.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 1:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service. A Celebration of Life will be held later in Albert Lea, MN.
