2 motorcyclists injured in crash on Highway 65

Two motorcyclists were injured Thursday afternoon after they collided on U.S. Highway 65 in Freeborn County.
Leo Joseph Schweiss, 69, of Fairfax and Ryan John Tillemans, 48, of Willmar were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash report stated Schweiss, who was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson Touring, and Tillemans, who was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson Touring, were both northbound on Highway 65 in Shell Rock Township when the motorcycles collided at 2:26 p.m.
Roads were dry at the time of the crash and alcohol was not a factor.
The report stated Tillemans was wearing a helmet, and it was unknown if Schweiss was wearing his.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Glenville Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
