Age 59 Born April 27, 1965. Passed away unexpectedly May 1, 2024.
A resident of Living Well Disability Services’ Upper 55th home in Inver Grove Heights, Brenda was one of the organization’s original 1973 residents after it opened as Dakota’s Children in West St. Paul. She attended Bridgeview School in St. Paul and, later, the Lifeworks day program in Eagan for decades until that location closed in 2020. Unable to walk or talk and completely dependent on others, Brenda was able to contemplate beauty, receive love and foster in others attentiveness, kindness and gratitude. Focused on the present, she enjoyed one-on-one interaction, music, art, books read aloud, nature, outings, and holidays with family.
Preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Eleanor Loomis and William and Marion Wesely. Survived by parents Lawrence and Mary Jean Loomis; brother Dan; sister Theresa Lauber (Kurt); nieces and nephews Nolan, Sophia, Bernadette, Ronan and Maclean Lauber; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family extends deep appreciation to Brenda’s many selfless, devoted and heroic care givers, past and present.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Monday, May 13, with visitation one hour prior at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 1938 Stanford Ave., St. Paul.
