Darlene J. Limesand, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 4th, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in St Louis Park, MN.  She was a 1956 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She married Vernell Limesand on June 11, 1960 in Albert Lea.  Darlene was a devoted mother. She loved spending time with her family at the cabins in Nisswa, MN. Many card games of 500 with the grandchildren were common place. She was an avid hockey fan who loved watching her two sons and all seven grandkids play youth and high school hockey.  She was a devout Christian who enjoyed attending Crossroads church. Even when she was physically unable to attend she was watching online Sunday mornings.  She is survived by her sister Diane Petersen,  her two sons, Lon (Michelle) and Todd (Megan); grandchildren, Dylan (Kaity), Derek (Hannah), Caleb, Kacie, Cody, Grace, and Carson; great-grandchild, Emma;  and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at Crossroads Church, 3402 Hoeger Lane, Albert Lea.  Visitation at 10 am, service at 11 am, and lunch to follow the service.
