Mason City Clinic on Friday announced the re-opening of a Mason City Clinic specialty clinic in Albert Lea, beginning June 4.
This clinic will provide residents of Albert Lea and the surrounding counties with urology; podiatry; ear, nose, and throat (ENT) and psychiatry services. Additional specialties, including cardiology and orthopedics, will be introduced in the future, according to a press release.
“We believe the Albert Lea community deserves access to top-tier specialty medical care close to home,” said Dr. Christopher Adams, president of Mason City Clinic and a board-certified urologist who will be seeing patients at the clinic. “We are pleased to bring these much-needed services back to the community and look forward to making a positive impact on local health care.”
This initiative follows the closure of facilities by MercyOne and Mayo Clinic Health System, which left a significant gap in primary and specialized medical care for Albert Lea residents. Mason City Clinic aims to fill this void, ensuring that the community has convenient access to essential specialty services.
“Mason City Clinic has a long history of serving Albert Lea residents with top-tier specialty medical care. We are thrilled that they want to retain and build on that relationship,” said Brad Arends, board chair of the Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition, a nonprofit organization that advocates for high quality, affordable and accessible health care in Albert Lea and surrounding communities. Arends says a majority of citizens currently have to drive more than an hour for specialty care.
The clinic will open on June 4 at 2440 Bridge Ave. in Albert Lea, operating initially Tuesday and Wednesdays with morning and afternoon appointments depending on the specialty. Patients will check at Hearing Associates located in the Commons Area entering on the east side of the building.
Patients can schedule appointments with the specialty physicians by calling 1-800-622-1411. The clinic accepts a wide range of insurance plans.
