Tigers qualify in 2 events for state track meet

The Albert Lea boys’ track and field team qualified for state in two events after the second day of the Section 1AA meet on Saturday.
Alex Palmer will compete at the state meet on Friday in the pole vault after placing third and surpassing the state qualifying mark of 12′ 11″ by vaulting 13′ 3.”
The 4x800m relay team of Ben Schulz, Andrew Tscholl, Noah McGaffey, Isaiah McGaffey will compete on Saturday in St. Michael Albertville after finishing second with a time of 8:17.15.
The Tigers posted many season bests in one of the most competitive sections in the state.
Other results were as follows:
Charlie Irvine finished seventh in the long jump with a jump of 19-06.50.
Isaiah Andersen Pitchford finished seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 11.55.
Andrew Tscholl finished seventh in the 1600m run with a time of 4:48.07
Elijah Goetz finished fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 52.00
Jal Thoat finished eighth in the 300m Hurdles with a time of 42.90
Isaiah McGaffey finished third in the 800m run with a time of 2:02.38
The 4x100m relay team finished seventh with a time of 44.78 (Isaiah Andersen Pitchford, Alex Palmer, Connor May, Trenton Mikels).
The 4x200m relay finished fifth with a time of 1:33.14 (Alex Palmer, Connor May, Henry Buendorf, Trenton Mikels).
The 4x400m relay finished seventh with a time of 3:34.64 (Isaiah Andersen-Pitchford, Max Irvine, Ben Schulz, Alex Palmer).
