Apryl Cora Brand-Applehans

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Apryl.
Apryl Cora Brand-Applehans (nee Tostenson) was given life in Her mother’s womb by her creator and was born on April 26, 1937, the child of D.V. and Edna Tostenson in Gallup, New Mexico. She received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. She later as a teenager publicly confirmed her faith in Jesus. On December 18, 1956, she received the gift of her beloved companion in her spouse of 39 years Theodore Paul Brand Sr. They were blessed with the gift of children and in laws- Theodore Brand Jr. and Tina, Leslie Mueller and Scott, Terence Brand and Bonnie, Thomas Brand, Timothy Brand and Susan, Lesa Koehler and Paul. Apryl’s life was blessed also with 13 Grandchildren- Angela, Ashley, Mandy, Sadie, Matt, Adam, Andy, Alex, Steven, Jacob, Rachel, Jessica and Erica. She has since been blessed with 13 Great-Grandchildren- Blake, Alivia, Mckenna, Mariah, Myla, Micah, Willa, Maverick, Axel, Elin, Marlo, Trevor, and baby boy Brand due to be born in November.
Apryl was preceded in death by her husband Ted in 1996. The Lord gifted Apryl with a second spouse, Allen Applehans as they married on June 1, 2000.
The Lord blessed Apryl’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work and in the community. Finally, on May 29, 2024, God blessed Apryl with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Apryl.
Funeral service will be on Friday, June 8th at noon at The Bonnerup Funeral Home, 2210 E. Main Street, Albert Lea. Rev. Paul Koehler (Son-in-Law of Apryl) officiating.
Precession for Interment will follow to the Hollandale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Hollandale.
